`Depressed' Lady Doctor Commits Suicide


A woman doctor from Punjab, who was pursuing a post-graduate course in Hyderabad, allegedly committed suicide by injecting herself with some poisonous liquid late on Saturday night under Tukaramgate police station limits.

Dr Sailaja Sharma, 31, hailing from Bhatinda, Punjab, lived in a rented house in TM Colony in Mahendra Hills area, the police said.

A man who stalked and harassed famous Tollywood actor Hema by sending vulgar messages to her mobile phone frequently has been arrested.

The 27-year-old man, Madhu, a native of Suryapet town in Nalgonda, was arrested on Thursday, after the actor lodged a complaint at the Madhapur police station.

Woman Raped In Farmhouse


Shamshabad police on Thursday arrested two persons for allegedly raping a 20-year-old woman in an under-construction farmhouse.

The victim, who approached the police, alleged that the accused, P. Suresh, 23, lured her promising to take her for a movie and took her to the farmhouse on Sunday. He was accompanied by his friend M. Venkatesh, 22, at the time of offence.

Man Lures Girl With Crackers, Rapes her


An autorickshaw driver is accused of raping an eightyear-old girl at LB Nagar on Monday night. The accused, Mohammed Javed, 22, a resident of NTR Nagar, lured the little girl to a deserted area by promising to buy firecrackers for her.

The child who is in Class II was admitted to hospital with bleeding and injures. LB Nagar police arrested the accused a few hours after booking a case against him for rape.

Shoot-At-Sight Ordered
Curfew was imposed in Vizianagaram town in coastal Andhra after violent attacks on the property of transport minister Botsa Satyanarayana, and shoot at sight orders were issued on Sunday.

Police arrested 32 people for arson and rioting in the town. Four of those arrested are said to be outsiders, two of them from Srikakulam. The town remained tense on Sunday as the united Andhra protesters hit the streets in the morning despite the curfew.

5 Minors Gangrape 12-yr-old Assam Girl


In what has come as shock, a 12-year-old girl was gangraped in an abandoned house by five minor boys in Guwahati. Senior superintendent of police, Guwahati, Anand Prakash Tiwari said that they have arrested five accused who were later found to be minors after a bone-marrow test.

The five boys are in the age group of 12 to 16 years and were her neighbours in Hatigaon area. They usually played together, the mother of the victim said in the FIR filed.

The city cops claimed on Thursday that they found a striking resemblance between two men seen in the CCTV footage recovered from the Dilsukhnagar blast site, and Yasin Bhatkal, the Indian Mujahideen terror suspect arrested at the Nepal border on Wednesday night, and another IM operative Asadullah Akhtar.

City police commissioner Anurag Sharma said, “We have CCTV footage of the suspects who planted the bomb at Dilsukhnagar minutes before the blast. The two persons seen in the video footage almost look like Yasin and Akhtar.

40 People Arrested In Tirupati
