State Struggles at Half Power
 The state had just half its daily requirement of electricity on the second day of the Seemandhra electricity employees strike on Monday. With 4,200 mw remaining off grid, emergency services and train movement were badly affected.

Most vital installations including the Vizag and Vijayawada airports are running on back-up power systems, as were major factories and most shops in the region.

VSP disrupted With the electricity employees of Seemandhra region boycotting their duties en masse on a call given by the Employees JAC against the bifurcation of State , the State, particularly Seemandhra, faced severe power crisis on the second day on Sunday.

Power Strike Begins
Dark days are ahead, literally, with employees of the power utilities, APGenco, APTransco and the four distribution companies going on a three-day (72-hour) strike from September 11 midnight over the bifurcation issue.

Of the 56,000 employees (including contract workers), at least two-thirds are expected to join the strike, badly affecting the power generation and supply chain in AP. While chairman and MD of APTransco Suresh Chanda appealed to the unions to reconsider their strike.
